Brief History of Online Casinos

Back then, if you want to play casino games, you need to go to Las Vegas just so you can play at a casino.  You may need to travel for miles and miles just for a single game of baccarat or blackjack.  But these days, anyone in the right age can start playing their preferred online games at the benefit of their own homes at their most comfortable time.  This has been made possible with the advent of the internet technology and more specifically, the online gambling industry.

Casinos started cropping up online during the mid 90’s,  although there has been much debate as to who really opened the first casino online.  Either way, all of these new casinos online just received their go signal when the Antigua and Barbuda passed the “Free Trade and Processing Act”.  This act allowed casinos online to open at these countries without the fear of litigation.

Though casinos online were based in Caribbean, bulk of the users are residing elsewhere in the world.  Due to nature of the internet, it made all users become prone to exploitation.  This is what prompt Kahnawake Gaming Commission to be established in the 1996.  This commission regulated the gaming activity of people online and the casinos’.  They also issue license for online gambling sites.  And by the late 90’s, online casinos were very much established.
